Client overview

Bricknell Gospel Hall Trust provides the role of a Christian church in the area of Hull, in the East Riding of Yorkshire. It is a registered charity in operation since 1982 with over 100 volunteers supporting their cause. Once again, the trust had decided to find suitable land and get the appropriate planning, leading to Jupiter Construction being approached to build a carbon copy of the previous build in Hessle.

Challenges and scope:

  • Weather – at times the team had to contend with inclement weather, normal for a project beginning during the winter months but the degree to which it rained was unprecedented but managed.
  • Mains Utility connections were delayed for reasons out of the control of Jupiter Construction leading to a rescheduling of the testing and commissioning of the building (no delay to the program as this was a known challenge)
  • Shared “tight” access due to an adjacent quarry in the vicinity and a high degree of industrial traffic entering and exiting the quarry via the main road by the site entrance.

The team

The team involved in this project were very experienced from Contracts Management to Quantity Surveyor, Site Management and Health and Safety support, this extended to a robustly managed team of sub-contractors, Jupiter Construction prides itself on a reliable and suitably competent supply chain with a solid Pre-Construction phase built into all projects.  The challenges presented meant that communication was key throughout, and the client was kept informed every step of the way.

Successes

Jupiter Construction once again achieved success for the client, delivering a timely project completion whilst adhering to budgetary constraints, all despite very inclement weather, minor supplier issues and in the usual Jupiter fashion, the project was managed as efficiently as possible to ensure a seamless delivery of the core project aims with the project completed on time and to the high standard that the Jupiter Construction team have become known for and of course to the clients satisfaction, after all this is why this particular project was repeat business.
