Project Overview

In a collaborative effort with the client NFU Mutual/PSK, Jupiter Construction embarked on a 10 week, £250k project to overhaul their corporate retail space through extensive repairs and stripping out turning into a fit for purpose site for new tenants in sustainable and energy-efficient way. The initiative was a modest one that had a degree of scale to it that despite its outward simplicity it was one with its own set of challenges which were overcome.

The Works

The renovation included roofing and associated guttering repairs as well as cut edge corrosion treatment and coating, the use of locally sourced materials is hugely important to Jupiter Construction and this project was no different. There were rear elevation cladding repairs, strip out works, a latex screeding to flooring, repairs to the internal building fabric and follow up making good and decorations. Finally a new gas supply was installed.

Jupiter Construction closely collaborated with NFU Mutual/PSK's team to ensure that every facet of the renovation adhered to the clients standards and of course their expectations.

Timeline and Budget

Working closely with the client, Jupiter Construction completed the project on time in Dec 2023 and within budget.

Overcoming Challenges

The project's tight 10-week timeline presented challenges in executing a comprehensive renovation while maintaining operational efficiency. The site was sited within a fully operational retail park and as such continuity/minimal disturbance was required. Jupiter Construction addressed this by implementing meticulous project management, efficient scheduling, and streamlined construction/repair processes. Continuous communication with NFU Mutual/PSK's project team ensured that any adjustments or modifications were seamlessly integrated without compromising the project timeline or disturbing neighbouring properties and the general public, any external works required took place during the quietest periods with a view to minimising and risk to staff or other retail park users, the site was secured at all times with fencing and signage.

Results and Future Impact

The successful completion of the project for NFU Mutual/PSK stands as a testament to the effective collaboration between Jupiter Construction and the client. The revamped retail space not only reflects the company's commitment to quality project management and high standards but also the ethical and sustainable approach to redevelopment of existing buildings to prolong and extend the life of large spaces that could otherwise fall into states of disrepair.
