ALDI – Reroofing Works

At Aldi Neston, the works required a full strip and recover of the existing roof, spanning both traditional pitched roof sections and flat roof areas. To support Aldi’s sustainability strategy, the programme also included the installation of solar PV panels, integrated into the newly refurbished flat roof.

Key activities included:

• Full perimeter scaffold installation, including out-of-hours works to protect customer access
• Strip and renew of the pitched and flat roof coverings
• Replacement of gutters, downpipes and vertical metal sheet areas
• Temporary protection of the store entrance canopy
• Specialist metal coating works to improve durability and weather resistance
• Installation of solar panels
• Decant, QA inspections and final handover

A significant challenge on this project was the store’s boundary with Network Rail land. Delivering the rail-side elevation safely and compliantly required:

• Formal approval from Network Rail
• Controlled works within a strict three-week access window
• Temporary fencing, vegetation cut-back and scaffold installation on NR land
• Carefully phased working hours
• Close communication between Jupiter Construction, Aldi UK, and rail representatives

Despite these constraints, the works were completed safely, on time and to specification.

• Fully renewed pitched and flat roof coverings
• Solar panel installation to support Aldi’s sustainability targets
• Safe delivery of rail-side works within the permitted NR access window
• Zero disruption to store operations throughout the programme
• Successful coordination with Aldi UK, Edge and the wider project team
• Completed on programme and to budget
