Gospel Hall

Hessle
Bricknell Gospel Hall Trust provides the role of a Christian church in the Hessle area of Hull, in the East Riding of Yorkshire. It is a registered charity in operation since 1982 with over 100 volunteers supporting their cause.

Back in 2017, it was becoming clear to the Trust its original premises were no longer suitable to their needs and the trustees began investigating new premises. Rather than acquiring an existing building, instead they chose to look for land suitable for a new building for worship. After settling on a greenfield site on Jenny Brough Lane in Hessle and the purchase completing, the Trust approached Jupiter to carry out the build. After making it clear a prior build had not run smoothly, with the Trust having to spend time resolving multiple issues, we explained our approach to effective management with minimal client input and were appointed as Principal Contractor in May 2018.

The project included a new access road and vehicle parking area. First, a septic tank was installed to take away the foul drainage and surface water soakaways. Permeable tarmac and block paving were used as part of the building’s ongoing drainage strategy. The building itself was constructed utilising timber frame construction with masonry and Marley Eternit cladding. Internal works included electrical, AC, plastering, decorating, floor finishes, and a WC fit out with disabled facilities. To finish, Jupiter provided the external landscaping.

Completing on time and on budget, the works were executed extremely well and the design and construction of the entire project was seamless from start to finish.

Here’s what our client had to say:

“The project team and all involved within the Gospel Hall project are a credit to Jupiter for the
professional manner in which they executed the contract.

I have no hesitation in recommending Jupiter to others.

Thank you for a job well done.”
