The scope of works comprised the demolition of an existing temporary classroom and the construction of a new permanent classroom. Jupiter Construction delivered the project from site set-up through to full build and handover, ensuring a safe and well-coordinated programme within a live educational environment.
The project included pre-construction planning, demolition, groundworks, superstructure installation using insulated timber frame construction, full internal fit-out, and external works including landscaping and drainage infrastructure.

Demolition and removal of existing modular classroom building
Site set-up including welfare facilities, fencing, and temporary services
Groundworks including foundations, drainage, and block & beam installation
Erection of the timber frame structure including OSB decking and full building envelope
Installation of roofing system, windows, doors, and PV panels
Full internal fit-out including partitions, M&E, ceilings, flooring, and decorations
Installation of kitchenette and toilet facilities
External works including drainage systems, attenuation tank, kerbing, and surfacing
Landscaping, fencing, and reinstatement works
Testing, commissioning, and final handover
Delivering works within an operational school environment presented a key challenge, particularly with young children in close proximity to the construction area. It was essential to maintain a safe and secure site at all times.
Jupiter Construction implemented strict segregation of the site from the school courtyard using secure fencing, controlled access points, and clear signage. Careful planning of deliveries and site activities ensured minimal disruption while maintaining the highest safety standards for pupils, staff, and visitors.
The project required close coordination between demolition, groundworks, superstructure, and fit-out phases. Achieving key milestones such as completion of the insulated timber frame and readiness for internal finishes required detailed planning and proactive management.
The use of timber frame construction and integration of elements such as PV panels required precise coordination between trades and suppliers, ensuring the building envelope and systems were installed efficiently and to specification.

Successful replacement of a temporary classroom with a modern permanent facility
Efficient delivery within a structured 22-week programme
High-quality internal and external finishes suitable for an educational environment
Improved sustainability through installation of PV panels
Safe project delivery within a challenging live school environment
Smooth handover following testing, commissioning, and final clean
This project demonstrates Jupiter Construction’s ability to deliver new-build educational facilities, combining effective planning, timber frame construction methods, and strong site management to achieve a high-quality outcome.
