Jupiter Construction successfully undertook a re-roofing project for the ALDI Spalding store, addressing a dilapidated concrete-tiled roof. The works included the removal of the existing roof covering, installation of an underlying board, and the placement of new concrete tiles in line with the specifications. Additionally, the project scope involved renewing aluminium capping to the gables, removing and reinstating solar panels, and implementing pest control measures.
The project was completed for ALDI UK, reporting to their Property Maintenance Department, and was managed by Edge Consulting with architectural input from the Harris Partnership.

The project required careful planning to minimise disruption to store operations and customers. This included adjusting working hours for the removal of tiles and ensuring pedestrian safety around the live store.
A significant challenge was the presence of pigeons roosting beneath the solar panels. Jupiter Construction implemented measures to safely remove the pigeons and installed pest control systems to prevent future roosting.
The site’s location posed logistical challenges, requiring the team and subcontractors to work away from home. This project ran concurrently with the Aldi Bretton project, demanding effective remote coordination and oversight to ensure smooth and efficient delivery.
