Scope of Works

The primary focus of the project was the comprehensive upgrade of three existing toilet blocks, strategically located in the main school corridor reception, main school bottom corridor, and the humanities block. The transformation involved converting these spaces into open-plan facilities featuring full-height cubicles and communal wash areas. Additionally, a crucial upgrade to one Disabled WC at The Snaith School was included, with Jupiter Construction handling the full design and construction process.

Challenges and Solutions

Commencing the works during the school term necessitated careful planning to minimise disruption and ensure the safety of students. Out-of-hours working was implemented to protect the school community, with the working areas meticulously segregated and managed. The Jupiter Construction team demonstrated high levels of expertise in project and on-site management, ensuring a smooth process despite the challenges.

With a relatively short timeframe, effective management of both the pre-construction and construction phases was imperative. The team worked diligently to meet client expectations, employing efficient strategies to deliver the project within the specified timeframe.

Operational Challenges

Several challenges emerged during the project, demanding agile solutions from the site team. The requirement to keep the school operational at all times added complexity, as did several supplier issues yet the site team adeptly navigated these challenges, ensuring the project's success without disrupting the school's regular activities.

Results and Client Satisfaction

The completion of The Snaith School Refurbishment Project in 19 (this included a period of stand down) weeks stands as a testament to Jupiter Construction's commitment to excellence and efficient project management. The upgraded facilities now provide a more modern and functional environment for students and staff. The Education Alliance expressed satisfaction with the outcome, highlighting the successful collaboration that enabled the project's timely completion without compromising the school's operational integrity. This project exemplifies Jupiter Construction's capability to deliver quality refurbishments within constrained timeframes, facing operational challenges and localised constraints.
